Fraser Guest House
Whats special about Fraser Guest House?
Our comfortable ‘home away from home’ is set in the suburb of Fraser, North Canberra. We provide professional and personal care for adults with a disability, allowing their parents opportunities for flexible and individually tailored breaks.
At Fraser House, the nurturing environment created by our staff is immediately apparent. Professional and personal care is individualised because the day program accomodates a maximum of four guests per day, with a maximum of three guests overnight.
A key aim of the Guest House is to assist guests with learning daily tasks and social skills through a variety of activities and outings. Guests may assist with meal preparation, tending the garden, feeding for the house pets and creating artwork. We also support and encourage individual interests and hobbies, wherever possible.
New guests and their parent carer are invited to spend time talking to our manager about their needs. This assessment ensures that we fully understand the guests routine, personal care, medication needs, dietary requirements, as well as hobbies and interests. Ongoing communication is essential to ensure that each guest feels safe and secure, and so the Carer feels assured that their son or daughter’s special needs are met.
Our people
Our staff are the key yo the success of Fraser Guest House. They are all experienced and qualified in providing individualised care for people with disabilities, and value our guests’ right to respect and dignity.
Our manager is a highly experienced Registered Nurse who works in regular consultation with parents to create an environment that suits the needs of their son or daughter. We believe all guests should feel at home and we aim to create a family environment.
