Carers ACT has been the representative Association and major service provider for the ACT’s 43,000 Carers and their families since 1992. Carers ACT leads change and action for Carers ensuring that ‘Caring is a shared community responsibility.’
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Executive Assistant to take on this dynamic role providing high level administrative support to the CEO and People and Corporate Services Manager.
Some of your key responsibilities will be diary & email management, minute taking, drafting correspondence, travel arrangements, project work, liaising with key stakeholders, and generally ensuring that the executive office runs efficiently and remains effective.
To be successful in this role you will have a professional yet personable approach, be highly efficient and have the ability to self manage your time. Above all, you will need a ‘can do’ attitude and flexibility to undertake a wide variety of tasks. Prior experience in a similar role would be highly advantageous.
Advanced computer skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office 2007 suite of programs is essential.

Mental Health Carer Policy and Representation Officer
Carers ACT is the peak organization for family Carers and the major provider of Carer services and supports in the ACT. We are looking for an experienced person to work with Carers of people with mental illness. Our mission is to lead change and action with and for Carers.
The position is responsible for day to day coordination of the Mental Health Carer Representation Program and works closely with the Policy Manager. Duties of the position include supporting and training Carers to represent themselves and others on Government committees, lend support in developing agreed (written) policy positions of the Carer membership, provide secretariat support to the Carer Alliance and provide a mechanism to update Carer members on committee progress and outcomes.
The position is offered on a full-time basis, but part-time work may be possible by negotiation. Salary is negotiable dependent on qualifications and experience.
