CIT Course for Family Carers Dealing with Depression

When Caring gets you Down is a short course offered by CIT for Family Carers experiencing depression. For many people, the caring journey is long and constant, and sometimes they wonder how they will keep going. This three session course will consider the ongoing stress of caring and the connection to depression, and explore ways to find some balance and move forward.

Topics covered:

  • Understanding and managing depression, particularly as it relates to long-term stress;
  • Looking at ways of dealing with stress and depression in the context of caring responsibilities; and
  • Finding some balance for yourself and those around you.

Facilitator:  Jenny Thompson has worked in the Canberra community for over 25 years as a psychologist, counsellor and trainer. She has a special interest in mental health, trauma and grief, and how families find resilience in the face of adversity.

Time: 10.00am – 12:00pm
Venue: CIT Southside Campus, Woden
