Carers ACT Membership

Carers ACT is the recognised and expert voice with and for Carers, as well as being the major provider of Carer services and supports in the ACT.
Carers ACT is a member-based organisation incorporated under the ACT Associations Incorporation Act 1991 and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Vision: Caring is accepted as a shared community responsibility.
Mission: Leading change and action with and for Carers.

Who can Join?
People who would like to join Carers ACT must support its vision and mission and agree to abide by the organisation’s rules and regulations. These can be found in the Carers ACT Constitution, which is available on our website www.carersact.asn.au

Why Become a Member?
Joining Carers ACT is a way to show your support for the organisation and gives you the opportunity to be involved in making a difference for Family Carers in the ACT. When you join you add strength to our work and volume to our voice. Membership also means that your voice is heard at the local and national levels, helping ensure both the government and public understand what works for Carers and what needs improvement. Carers ACT assists by collating your views into reports, submissions, and demonstrating evidence of Carers’ current needs.

Other membership benefits include:

  • Members receive four editions of the Carers Circle magazine per year.
  • Members are invited to special events and forums.
  • Full Members can attend and vote at our Annual General Meeting.
  • Current Carers receive a free ticket when accompanying their cared for person to ACT’s Hoyts, Dendy and Limelight cinemas and also at Questacon (membership card must be shown).

Please note: You do not have to be a Member to access Carers ACT services
